Happy New Year!
It is hard to believe how fast time is going by and we can barely
believe it is 2010. We thought for sure the world would have been
destroyed by now, but it appears we still have some time on our hands.
The end of this year actually marks a year that we've been
doing ponderlicious.com and not only has it been fun, we've been
learning a lot about the web. To celebrate the end of our first year, we
thought we would share some of the "internet" lessons we've learned. So
without further ado, here they are:
1) The internet is a cold, cruel place.
We've kind of found this out the hard way. Like the
streets of New York city,
the internet is a tough place.
2) Ad Sense isn't the money-making machine some would lead you to
believe.
Since we have a little bit of self-respect left, we won't tell you how
much we have earned on AdSense, but let's just say we haven't gotten our
first check yet and at our current rate, we will have to figure out how
to get mail delivery to our graves.
3) If you want to succeed on the internet, you should try to create
some
original content.
We are slowly coming to the realization that if you want to "make it" on
the web, you should try to create original material; otherwise, people
are simply coming to your site and following a link to someone else's.
We used to do skits as kids before video was popular. Little did we know
we were ahead of the curve.
4) No matter what, do what you enjoy.
This is probably the most important lesson of all. While we are learning
a lot about the internet and social networking and all that by doing
this, we are doing this site because we enjoy it. So whether this site
ends up big or not, at the end of day we still enjoy it and that's the
most important lesson of all.
So we're off to 2010. We appreciate your visits and hope you'll
bookmark us. And we sincerely wish you and your family and friends a
happy, productive 2010.
